Developments Kyron Horman Case

Kyron Horman

The latest development in the case of the missing Oregon boy Kyron Horman, is that authorities will be looking closely to the stepmother Terri Horman. She previously stated that she saw Kyron last after she dropped him off at Skyline Elementary School and saw him walking down the hallway towards his classroom. However, cell phone records indicate she may not have been at the elementary school at that time, according to a report in People Magazine.

Authorities have refused to comment on the report. In fact, Multnomah County Sheriff Dan Staton disputed the notion that Kyron’s stepmother, Terri Moulton Horman, has been uncooperative with investigators.

Pressure has been mounting on the stepmother. She has taken two polygraphs and has been served with divorce papers and a restraining order by her husband, Kaine Horman, who is Kyron’s father.

Authorities believe a missing 7-year-old Oregon boy is still alive, and said that the search for him is progressing faster than most searches of its kind. The investigation has been “scaled down” since it began on June 4, but 20 investigators are still working to find Kyron Horman.

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office (Oregon) has asked anyone who was at Skyline Elementary on the day Kyron disappeared if he or she recalled seeing his stepmother at the school.

Kyron was wearing dark cargo pants and a black T-shirt with the “CSI” logo on it at the time of his disappearance. He is 3 feet 8 inches, weighs 50 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office (Oregon) at 1-503-261-2847.

Another development is a murder-for-hire scenario.

A landscaper who worked for Kyron Horman’s family at their rural Northwest Portland home told authorities that the missing boy’s stepmom offered to pay him to kill her husband. The landscaper said that Terri Moulton Horman approached him with the murder-for-hire plot six to seven months before Kyron disappeared. She reportedly offered the landscaper a large sum of money to carry out the scheme.

Detectives with the Multnomah County Major Crimes Team shared the landscaper’s account with Kyron’s father, Kaine Horman. That prompting him to leave the house June 26 with the couple’s 19-month-old daughter. Within two days, he obtained a family law attorney and filed divorce papers and a petition for a restraining order under the Family Abuse Prevention Act.

Authorities have responded to this information with the following statement: “There will be no comment from the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office regarding the information reported in the July 4, 2010 Oregonian,” Lt. Mary Lindstrand, a sheriff’s spokeswoman, wrote in the statement. “The information released in the Oregonian article did NOT come from the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office. This is an ongoing investigation. There is no press conference scheduled for today or tomorrow.”

We will be following this case so check back here for further news. To be continued…

Many people are now suspecting the bio father Kaine Horman in Kyron’s disappearance.

Thank you for you comment, Betty. My biggest issue with this case: motive. What is the motive for any of the players to make this boy disappear? They all have opportunities but WHY?

I just found your blog, and have been exploring it for the past hour. Very interesting, especially about the Zieger case. In that case, the picture of the male laying on the floor— why were his pants pulled down? That struck me immediately.

As for this Kyron Horman case, I’ve been following it from the very beginning– and there are so many wild theories out there. When people started to bring up Kaine Horman as the suspect, I was also puzzled. I don’t see the motive either. I really don’t. Why would he? I can clearly see the step-mother’s motive… actually a few motives… maybe even the bio mother but it’s much easier to suspect the step mother. I just haven’t yet heard of a motive for Kaine to have done anything. I just wanted to concur with your comment above!

I’m not saying the step mother DID anything. Nobody knows except the people responsible. I don’t like accusing (although I DO like speculating…that part is fun, although very wrong to do, I know), and the step mother is not making anything look better on her own part. WHY NOT?! Why isn’t she trying to prove her own innocence? I feel like her lawyer is just waiting for a “technicality” to use in the case to get it dismissed.

Hi Nikki, thanks for stopping by and for taking the time to comment.

Re Kyron Horman: too much speculation and too little that convinces me that anyone really understands why this little boy had to disappear. I am at a loss here myself.

Re Zeigler: there are many reasons why Mays’ underpants are moved.

The state of Florida likes the vulgar version in which Mr. Zeigler first kills May and then performs a sex act on him. That did NOT happen!

The pants are down because either Mays pushed them down himself to check how badly he was wounded (remember that he was shot) or, his pants were pulled down when Mays was slightly moved after he died. If you look closely you will see that the floor underneath him was wiped clean. His legs were lifted up to clean underneath. When you pull someone up by the pant legs the pants will shift. There were four dead bodies in the store. Three were laying in big puddles of their own blood. Only Mays had his area partially cleaned. Now if Zeigler killed all four, why clean up only around Mays? Does that make sense to you?

    My best, V

    @ Nikki:
Anyone could have a motive: The bio father, the bio mother and the step mother. All 3 could have wanted to unload a child — it makes life more simple in the caustic sense and no financial drains. To a certain extent, I am even concerned about Kiara’s welfare.

The problem is to find Kyron, alive or dead. The Army psychic by the name of Dame said that he envisioned that Kyron was 10 miles south of the school. However, Dames could not investigate because it was on private property. However, the police could investigate this. It may even be possible that Kyron is inside the house somewhere on the private property located 10 mi south from the school.

    Just a Thought,
