Very difficult to read, and how it could have happened is incomprehensible to me. I can’t imagine not looking into the source of screams at 2 AM.
This event brings to mind the Kitty Genovese murder in 1964, in NYC. The difference is that the Genovese incident provoked wide outrage–far more attention than this one seems to be getting. Is a lack of social responsibility becoming more acceptable?
Hi Phil,
Thanks for commenting. The reading was hard and after that I could not stop the images. We all have seniors in our circles and my mind kept wondering off …what if it happened to someone I knew?
For those unfamiliar with Kitty’s case, a dozen people heard her scream “Oh my God, he stabbed me! Help me!” Kitty’s murder sparked a discussion about apathy. Let us hope that happens now again.
Thanks again, Vid

Thats a tragic sign of how society has changed. I cannot imagine ignoring the screams of someone.
Me either. At 2am my street is so quiet … screaming would have me up in a second with a cell phone in my hand.
