Help the Cops catch the Mummy Bandit!

Phoenix, Arizona: The Desert Schools Federal Credit Union is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a bank robber known as the “Mummy Bandit.”

A man wrapped in bandages and walking on crutches entered the Desert Schools Federal Credit Union located inside the Wal-Mart at Bethany Home Road and 35th Avenue in Phoenix on Jan. 30.

According to the Phoenix FBI Bank Robbery Task Force, the suspect approached the teller counter, drew a semi-automatic pistol and demanded that the tellers open their drawers. He then vaulted the teller counter and removed cash from the teller drawers, filling a plastic grocery bag. The suspect fled the Wal-Mart on foot without his crutches. No vehicle was seen.

The “Mummy Bandit” is described as a black male, 23 to 30 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 170 to 180 pounds. He reportedly had yellow or jaundice eyes and white bandages on his head, face, hands and right foot. He was wearing a black long-sleeve sweatshirt and blue jeans at the time of the robbery.
