If this evidence (Charlie Mays’ blood, not Perry Edwards’) were the only flaw in the State’s case, Zeigler should be exonerated. But there have been a multitude of errors, prosecutorial deception, misconduct in the jury room, prejudice by the judge, that this case screams out for justice for Tommy. And still he waits!
It is not the only flaw and I am only warming up! I am not even near done highlighting the errors so stay with me!
I admire Tommy’s patience very much, especially that he has not become bitter despite everything that has been done to him. Please give him my best and tell him, his story is the best read series on DCC!
My best, Vidocq
To play the devil’s advocate, Mays’ blood on Zeigler’s shirt is entirely consistent with the state’s assertion that he murdered Mays with blunt force to the head after shooting him twice in the back. If DNA evidence had been available at the time, they would have merely substituted Mays for Edwards. The case did not turn on the contention that he had one particular victim’s blood on his shirt instead of one of the other three.
