Update Anita Andrews
Roy Allen Melanson is back in Northern California to face charges of fatally stabbing a Napa bar owner 36 years ago. Authorities say Roy Allen Melanson was booked into Napa County Jail last Saturday after being extradited from Colorado, where he has been serving a life sentence for the murder of another woman.
Napa County prosecutors charged Melanson last July with the murder of 51-year-old Anita Andrews. Her body was found in the stock room of the Fagiani Cocktail Lounge in July 1974. Andrews’ murder remained unsolved for decades until last year, when investigators say they found DNA evidence that linked Melanson to the crime scene.
Melanson faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.
